Organic Cotton T-Shirt Manufacturer — GOTS Chain
Organic cotton is a supply-chain claim, not a fabric feature, and the difference matters commercially. A T-shirt is only genuinely organic if the cotton is grown to organic standard, ginned and spun in a certified chain of custody, and the finished garment carries the transaction certificate that proves it. We buy organic cotton yarn through a certified chain and pass the mill certificate to you with the order, so your claim stands up if a retailer or marketplace asks for evidence.
Fabric weight and construction options
| Weight / type | Material | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| 180 gsm | GOTS organic cotton, single jersey | Retail organic basics, certification-led ranges |
| 200–220 gsm | Organic ring-spun cotton | Premium organic with a better hand-feel |
| 160–180 gsm | Organic cotton–recycled poly | Lower footprint, lower cost, still traceable |
| 200–240 gsm | Organic cotton, compacted | Where shrinkage control matters as much as the claim |
Available decoration methods
| Method | Specification | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Water-based screen print | 1–6 colours, soft hand | Pairs naturally with an eco-positioned product |
| DTG | Water-based pigment inks | No minimum, low-water process; suits small organic drops |
| Embroidery | Up to 12 colours | No chemistry involved — the safest branding route for a certified garment |
| PVC-free heat transfer | Per-name personalisation | Avoid PVC plastisol if the product claims a low-toxin story |
| Eco woven label | Organic or recycled label tape | Keeps the certification story consistent end to end |
